Can tungsten rings be resized? What to know before you order
3 min read ยท True Vow Rings

No, a tungsten ring cannot be resized. Tungsten carbide is too hard to cut, stretch or solder like gold or silver. That makes the first measurement important.
Why tungsten cannot be resized
Resizing a gold ring means cutting the band and adding or removing metal. Tungsten carbide is too hard for that, and heat does not soften it the way it softens gold.
Measure the right way
Measure at the end of the day, when fingers are a little larger. Make sure the ring slides over the knuckle. Use our ring size guide or follow how to measure your ring size at home.
Choosing a wide band like the 8 mm Polished Dome Tungsten Band? Wide bands feel tighter, so consider half a size up.
The size you order is the size you keep
Our rings are final sale, and a tungsten band cannot be resized later. Measure twice, and pick the bigger size if you land between two.

Questions and answers

No. Tungsten carbide does not bend or stretch.
Can a tungsten ring be cut off in an emergency?
Standard ring cutters do not work on tungsten. Emergency staff use a ring cracker, a tool that breaks the band safely.
